Health & Safety Policy

General Policy Statement

Our director, Simon Forster, accepts sole responsibility for our health and safety management.

It is the policy of The Tree Fella to foster a positive health and safety culture within our company. Our industry is a high-risk occupation, and we believe that high standards of health and safety at all levels will provide the safest environment for our staff and customers.

We’re grateful that a wide array of legislation and industry guidance is already in place to protect our staff, and we work hard to ensure that these existing best practices are integrated into our business operations.

The Tree Fella is an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor (ArbAC).

ArbAC is the only comprehensive accreditation scheme for professional tree surgery businesses in the United Kingdom, operated by the Arboricultural Association and running for over 40 years.

To attain and retain ArbAC status, a business is independently audited against the Scheme Standards, covering health and safety compliance, operational competence, work standards and technical knowledge.

The scheme itself is ISO 9001 (UKAS) accredited and is a registered member of SSIP (the Safety Schemes in Procurement forum).

Our compliance is reassessed by the Arboricultural Association in part every two years and in full every four years.

We abide by the Arboricultural Association’s Codes of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

As an ArbAC business we are signed up to the Arboricultural Association’s complaints procedure, giving clients independent recourse in the unlikely event that an issue cannot be resolved between us.

We are committed to providing and maintaining safe and healthy work conditions, equipment and safe systems of work.

We have a zero-tolerance attitude towards unsafe acts.
